BOOTIQ Astro Plush Rocker

Item #: 006951
What's in the box?
The rocker was very well sealed and packaged in a white printed cardboard box. The box was very light tipping my scales fully boxed at 5.4KG, and could very easily fit in any car.
Inside the box revealed the rocker covered in a plastic bag. We also found a full canopy/hood and a plush/padded toy bar. In addition to these items, was the operating manual.
Assembly & Usage:
Once removed from the plastic covering, I proceeded to read the instructions on how to use the rocker.
Setting the rocker up was quite simple as it is almost fully operational as it is. It was a simple matter of opening the frame and adjusting the seat in one simple uplifting movement. One just has to literally squeeze the adjustment lever under the front of the seat. This either raises or lowers the seat into the required position.
The mechanism for adjusting the recline of the rocker was found to be quite reasonable in quality and design.
There are 3 positions that the seat locks into.
- Fully upright
- Slightly reclined
- Almost horizontal
Another simple feature was how the designers achieved the fixed, seat position. Stabiliser bars swivelled to allow the rocker to become fixed. This is achieved by plastic inserts affixed to the inside of the rocker legs which lock the legs into place. Although the stabiliser bars are great, the plastic inserts still have a fair degree of play or slack in them which is not ideal. The stabiliser legs do have small rubber protectors on them to prevent marks on hard surfaces such as tiles or wooden flooring.
The full canopy/hood is fastened by plastic clips which attached to the frame tubes on each side of the rocker. There is a tendency for these to slide slighty on the tubing when pulled roughly, as the grip of the plastic clips are quite strong but not super strong. The toy bar suffers a similar experience but the minor difference is the toy bar has a peg on the inside of the clip which helps it to lock into place, unfortunately it doesn’t grip tightly. Both the canopy and toy bar fastener clips are very minor issues and this should not be a major factor if considering the rocker.
