Usage:
The Fisher Price Rainforest Melodies and Lights Deluxe Gym, comes with 5 toys and a hanging mirror:
- soft jingly Toucan
- soft Monkey
- Elephant with soft ears and a spinner with rattling balls
- Parrot with a paddle-spin
- Butterfly mini-mobile
There is also a crinkly leaf on the play mat that lifts up to reveal another creature... great for Peek-a-boo fun. The play mat also has some attachments like a plush tail on a tiger and the sun has satiny orange and gold ribbon for rays.
What is great are the linkable toys and links located on both the arches and the play mat. You can move the toys around so baby can explore or add more toys.
The music is fun for baby while the rainforest sounds are soothing. The music is like earworm, in that it gets stuck in your head to the point of pulling yourself up for singing or humming it. Sound has two volumes at which you can play it at; there is a toggle switch on the Power and Volume control dome.
On the underside of the Power and Volume control dome, there are 4 lights that pulsate to the music.
There is also an ‘activation’ feature which is supposed to play the music and pulsate the lights briefly but it really requires one almighty knock to activate it.
The batteries seem to last forever and I am yet to change them.
Conclusion:
My baby absolutely loves playing in the gym and can spend about an hour in it till he has had enough. Plenty of time to give Mum and Dad a break.
For the amount paid, this play gym is an acceptable buy and I recommend it, but I would have liked to have seen a couple more plush toys included.
